Application of Kenyan good conduct certificate in Dubai

After securing a job in Dubai, your company will request a Kenyan good conduct certificate before processing your work permit. Mostly, you will be specifically asked for a Kenyan good conduct certificate if it’s your first time being employed in the UAE else you will be asked for UAE PCC. The Kenyan Good Conduct Certificate also known as the police clearance certificate is issued by Directorate of Criminal Investigation of Kenya(DCI-K). It is an official document that shows your criminal records with a validity of one year. In this article, I will guide you on the application for a Kenyan good conduct certificate in Dubai.
Importance of a Kenyan conduct certificate in Dubai
The Kenyan good conduct certificate is an important document for any Kenyan who want to work in the United Arab Emirates. Companies in Dubai and other Emirates in the UAE want to employ people without prior criminal records. As a result, they will request a good conduct certificate either from Kenya or the UAE before they process your work permit. Therefore, it is advisable to apply for the certificate before you travel to Dubai. But if you didn’t this article will guide you on applying for Kenyan good conduct while in Dubai.
Eligibility of applying Kenyan Good Conduct in Dubai
All Kenyans living or working in the United Arabs Emirates are eligible for applying for a certificate of Kenyan Good conduct.
The following documents are required for the successful application of Kenyan Good Conduct in Dubai:
- The eCitizen account
- C24 form. Downloaded from the eCitizen website.
- Two copies of the invoices you downloaded from the eCitizen website after payment of the service.
- Emirates ID(or copy of your valid visa)
- Master or Visa debit cards for payment purposes.
Application of Kenyan good conduct certificate in Dubai

To apply for a Kenyan good conduct certificate in Dubai you will do it online through the eCitizen portal. Once logged in to the portal follow you will follow the prompt as described below:
- Navigate to the Directorate of Criminal Investigation and select get services now.
- Click the police clearance certificate
- Select your application and click next
- Select Nairobi as your fingerprint area, and DCI Headquarters-Nairobi as your fingerprint location and click complete.
- Select the mode of payment eg M-PESA, pay(KES 1050), and then click complete.
- After payment, you will be redirected to the homepage where you will download one copy of the C24 form and two copies of invoices.
Getting your fingerprints in Dubai
After downloading C24 and invoice forms you will go to Dubai Airport terminal 2, gate 3 Police post to get your fingerprints. You will be required to present C24 and the invoice form you downloaded from the eCitizen portal. This service will cost you AED 120 which you will pay with a debit card.
Stamping of the forms
Both forms will need a stamp from the Dubai consulate or Kenyan Embassy before sending them to Kenya. Therefore, after getting your fingerprints you will go to the Kenyan consulate in Dubai or Kenyan Embassy in Abu Dhabi(if you are in Abu Dhabi) for stamping of your C24 and invoice forms. The service charge will be AED 50 through a debit card.
Sending your documents to Kenya
Next, you will send your documents to Kenya for further processing. You will do this either through international couriers like DHL or FedEx. Or alternatively, you can send through a friend traveling to Kenya to submit the forms to DCI Headquarters-Nairobi.
It will take around two weeks for your good conduct certificate to be processed and approved by DCI-K after submission to the DCI Headquarters. Once it’s ready, you will download your certificate from your eCitizen account and print it.
Attesting the Kenyan good conduct certificate
Kenyan good conduct must be attested to be accepted as a legal document in Dubai and the UAE. Therefore, after downloading and printing your certificate you will go to the Kenyan consulate in Dubai or Kenyan Embassy in Abu Dhabi, for certificate stamping. If you have your previous invoice, the service will be free but if you don’t have you will be charged AED 50 which you will pay via debit card.
Next, after getting the stamp, you will go to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Bur Dubai to attest your certificate. This will be the last step of the application for a certificate of Kenyan good conduct in Dubai. And you will be free to submit your certificate to any company that requests it. At the ministry, the service will cost you AED 160.
